How long have you been a Crossfitter?

I have been a Crossfitter for 1 year.

Why do you Crossfit?

I Crossfit simply because it’s a fun and exciting way to workout.

What’s your favorite thing about Crossfit?

My favorite thing is that there is a different wod each day. In the past, working out became quite monotonous and boring for me but with Crossfit, I look forward to new challenges everyday.

How has Crossfit impacted your life?

Crossfit has had quite an impact on my life in many ways. I must say that I’ve never stuck with
any exercise program for nearly as long as I have with Crossfit. I never would have thought that working out could be fun for me, now I look forward to it everyday.

Over the years, I have gained an extra 25lbs mostly after having children. Crossfit has not
only helped in attaining my weight loss goals but I also feel stronger, more energetic and have never been as fit my entire life.

Since my introduction to Crossfit, I have incorporated a healthier lifestyle for myself and my family. We all eat a lot more fruits, vegetables, lean protein and drink a lot more water than we did before. We also get more restful sleep at night and the results have been astounding. My children had an excellent school year and everyone is healthier as well as happier.

What’s your favorite lift/workout?

My favorite workouts include double unders. I think this is because they seemed impossible for me initially. I was thrilled when I finally figured out how to do them, but they are still a work in progress.

What’s your least favorite lift/workout?

My least favorite is running!

What advice would you give to the new Crossfitter?

My advice for new crossfitters is to allow time for your body to adjust. Initially, you may feel exhausted and have tremendous muscle ache, but it definitely gets better as you get stronger. Stick it out and you’ll be glad you did.

Tell us something not Crossfit-related that we don’t know about you

I once got stuck on a fishing boat in the middle of the ocean during a minor storm. The engine would not start and there were 8 foot waves that rocked the boat constantly and made all 8 of us including the captain sick. After a while, the engine finally started but then we found out that the anchor was stuck in rocks. I was never so scared for my life!! Eventually, we got the anchor free and made it back to shore safely.
